Complexity Theory: A Better Scientific Method for IT

Here at Wayfair, we believe complexity theory to be valuable and quite helpful in terms of data center builds. In particular, there are certain ways we can use this theorem to prevent outages in the future. There will forever be unpredictable events – how do we assess their difficulty or state to be better prepared for their arrival?

At the most recent Boston DevOps meetup, I had the opportunity to discuss why complexity theory is such a popular concept among DevOps gurus, and how its practices are changing team's approaches to scaling out systems.
